Western civilization has done us no favors by making it seem as if the only way you matter is if you do something other than just live. If you have a high-paying job and a high profile. I'm sorry, the point to being alive is just living. That being said, I think living in the moment and appreciating what you have around you is what matters. That ability to be a part of your environment, urban or rural, and just be in it, is very fulfilling. I love reading about your CSA hauls, your cooking, your beekeeping, etc. You live very much in the moment, as part your environment and it sounds so peaceful and relaxing. I think you are definitely doing it right and not wasting a single solitary moment. What you are doing matters to you, and that's what counts.
