I got thrugh enugh of my To Do List that making some dumplings seemed like a good idea. So I tried frescatelli, which is supposed to be "the simplest way to make instant dumplings" according to the recipe book. Semolina flour, you flick water over it to form little lumps of semolina dough, boil them for a couple of minutes and then (for this particular presentation) brown them in butter. Except my little lumps turned into porridge at the boiling stage, so I ended up with something akin to grits. Still tasty, but in no way dumplings. I think I didn't flick enough water and my lumps of semolina were too small, maybe. And possibly not so much of a roiling boil next time?
