Banking update
Jun. 20th, 2006 02:48 pmSo, the mystery withdrawals that sent us into overdraft? Our insurance company billing us for a cancelled policy. See, when we moved to California, I called up to change the policy, and they said that changing states meant canceling the old policy (which had been in Henry's name) and creating a new one in my name, since I was the one they were talking to.
Fine.
Except they didn't cancel the old policy. Henry got the notices for the old one and thought they were for the new policy. I got the notices for the new one and didn't realize there was anything else being charged. With the multiple accounts and strange but legitimate expenses cropping up all the time, it slipped past us. $850 later, we finally figure that out.
They're refunding everything and will cover any further bank charges that this latest ACH causes, so all's well.
But that's two more weeks before I can bid Chase a final farewell.
