Nov. 22nd, 2010 09:39 amI should probably be sorting laundry, but Wednesday has come over to sleep on my right arm, so leaving the couch isn't happening. Fortunately I can still type without disturbing her too much.
I have an appointment to revamp my insurance needs this afternoon. Which means at some point before then I have to take a shower and get dressed. Last time I took a shower the water never got hotter than lukewarm, which was not pleasant at all. I have since cranked up the water heater as far as it will go, hope that makes a difference. I don't even know what sort of professional to consult about fixing this - is it a plumbing problem? I have no idea.
Other than that, have had a pretty good week. I got myself a yellow toaster oven on sale. It looks very cute in my yellow kitchen and should feel less wasteful when I am baking my tiny pizzas and single muffins than heating up the whole oven. Unfortunately, the toaster oven sized pizza stone and cookie sheets I got don't fit into it. They are, like, and eighth of an inch too big. So it goes, I know what to look for, now.
Went on the Napa Wine Train on Saturday. It was a grey and rainy day, but not rainy enough to completely obscure the view, so that mostly just made for dramatic skies to backdrop the green hills and multi-colored vineyards and yellow leaves. I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Napa for the first time without a list of must-see wineries; the train goes past quite a few giving you a chance to eyeball them and decide what to go back to later, and the onboard winetasting is pretty extensive. I think I got a free glass of wine out of it, and got to find out what viognier tastes like, as well as enjoying my favorite varietal - Cab Franc. Lunch was delicious and everywhere on board had lovely views. I hope I tipped properly, it's hard to know what to do when the meal is included in the ticket.
Yesterday the Saints won, yay, and Walter and I went to Petco and stocked up on everything pet-related, so I could feel accomplished over that.
Tomorrow I've got a Dream Dinners session, which will make 4 days in a row of going out in the world. Gosh.
