I am FINALLY getting some dumplings made. I have cauliflower leek soup simmering on the stove with the dumping dough chilling in the fridge, along with ha chicken and some ingredients to make Chicken in a Pot. We'll eat well tomorrow, and probably for a few days after since I didn't cut the recipe down any...

Freezer is good and full of baked goods. It's time to make pancakes and bagels again in a few days, and there are still some in the freezer from last time! So Operation Sourdough is looking very successful. Passover is going to throw me all off, but I'll worry about that when I have to.

Operation Eat Out on Saturdays sort of got underway. We did go out last Saturday, but the new place we wanted to go to had a 45 minute wait, so we went to the Main Street Bar and Grill, which is actually a fancier place than it sounds, French fusion, maybe? Anyway, it's been our go-to nice place, we've been there q fair amount, but they changed the menu and the decor a little bit recently, so it wasn't too same-old same-old going there. And it's alway good. We'll make reservations this Saturday, I think.

We've been a little slow getting into the swing of the daily-ish bike ride. That one ride with no padding kept me off the bike entirely for almost a week, and DH's canoeing trip with my dad (that lasted something like 10 hours) left him to sore to try to ride for a few days, so it's been more like weekly, but we both felt good after today's ride. And I figured out that our therapist's office, which is right near the farmers' market, is the same distance from out house by bike as City Hall and the Yacht Club, which is where we ride to all the time when we don't know where else to go and just want a short ride, so that suddenly feels much closer. I'm very excited about biking to the farmers' market when it starts up again in May. it was very frustrating to me to get done with our session an hour before the market started, so we could see everyone starting up but couldn't shop yet, and DH has to get back to work, of course, but if we bike over, he can come back and I can hang out at Starbuck's or somewhere until the stalls are ready to sell me stuff.

Assuming we keep going to therapy, which I am a little iffy about. It's helped, but I'm not sure it's helping right now, if that makes sense. I kind of feel like we got to where we can walk pretty comfortably, and she is pushing us to work on the mechanics of our stride and run an efficient 10K while I just want to enjoy this sauntering for a little while. She cancelled today's session, and I definitely don't miss it. We'll see, I guess.
Also figured out that the full length of Linear Park in Fairfield is just about as long as DH's commute from the train station to his office would be, so we can pretty easily test whether he can ride that far. Train + bike will make for a longer commute time-wise for him, but probably more enjoyable - I think it would be nice to have the alternative, at least.

In addition to the bike ride, I did my upper body weight training yesterday, after not doing any kind of strength training at all for weeks. I was surprised that I wasn't completely and utterly too weak to do anything, so that was nice. I'm going to try to alternate days between upper body and legs, though the bike riding may keep me too sore to do much weight training with my legs, we'll see. The bike comes first, I think, if I have to choose. With luck I can build up my strength and stamina to be able to do both, and add some aquatics since the new Aquatic Center opened up and looks super fantastic.  They've got some sort of walking against the current option that intrigues me, might make a nice bridge into swimming for me since I can really only swim a couple of laps. I know once it gets hot again I will just want to be in the water every afternoon.

We'll be working in the yard this weekend. The lawn needs mowing, the neighbor's blackberry vines are starting to invade, and those camellia bushes need to get into the dirt. Might be time to prune the tree in the front yard, too. There's so much that needs doing in the backyard, it's easy to just throw up our hands and let it go wild, but I hope we will actually get some done.

So, nesting is going well, I guess. I may be ready to branch out into other things soon, we'll see.

Yeah, I seem to be constantly either thinking of what I would be writing if I had the time but too busy doing the stuff I would write about to actually write, or with tons of time but nothing to say, so any time I'm all Wordy McWordison, I'd better go with it or I'll disappear off the internets. And that would never do!
