Petty Little Arghs and Some Pleasant Things

• Woke up at 5:45 this morning and have stayed awake since. Kind of neat
• Grass was all frosty and my little water garden was iced over. The oranges are turning orange, like they are supposed to in response to frost.
• Stupid dog got into the neighbor's yard somehow. I shouldn't stay stupid, it's his smarts that are the trouble, but goddammit dog, stop that. I don't know how he did it, though that is the fence we didn't replace, yet, and I'm not terribly surprised it's permeable even though I can't find the hole. Unfortunately, these are neighbors I don't know AND no one seems to be home, so I can't really go into their yard to get him. I am trying to ignore him and hope he comes back on his own before too long, but I am all anxious about it.
• Had lunch at 10:30 - consequence of being up so early, I imagine. I don't really mind that one.
• Tripped over the cord of my one and only incandescent bulb using lamp, pulled the lamp off the nightstand, and busted the shade. Bah.
• One of the times I went out to try to get the dog to come in I wore socks and no shoes because I am dumb and now my feet are wet and cold.
• (2:35 PM) He finally came back! Lost his neckerchief, but I've got all my critters inside, which I like to do early when there's likely to be fireworks outside.
• And another 30-day extension for Prudential. That's three. If they send me another one end of January I'm gonna have to call and ask WTF they are investigating for so long.
• Fresh-baked bread still warm enough to melt butter is just utterly delicious.
