Oh, man, it's so nice to have my laptop back.

Quickstep: Oh, Leila is so good. She seems to have forgotten about the shoulder and head bits, which is too bad because those add a cute, playful touch, but she nails the footwork and looks fantastic. And the judges didn't ding her, so who am I to criticize?

Foxtrot: John looks pretty good. Edyta is really dancing around him which I don't like, but he looks great in the break.

Foxtrot: Apolo has really come along. It must help that he's an world-class athlete - he was jumping rope to warm up before the show last week! Craziness. But he's gotten that weird leg thing under control and is much more expressive than I would have predicted from a speed skater. I suspect Jullianne pushes him to reach the competive levels she's used to and he just rises to it as a competitive guy. And another lovely routine from them.

Tango: I like Ian, I think his recent dances have been better than the judges give him credit for. Tango is probably the dance that I understand the technical demands of the best, so i should be able to get a better idea of how he's doing with this one. His posture looks good to me and I like the way they are using the music. I didn't see the mistake, hey, I can rewind...no, still don't see it.

Waltz: Hard to believe Billy Ray is still in this. Huh, thet whole showcasing Karina thing actually ended up looking less like she was carrying all the weight than Edyta's flashiness with John Ratzenberger. But he had no rise and fall and couldn't get where he needed to be a couple of times. - that stutter step to catch up is awful in the waltz. It is a pretty routine, though.

Foxtrot (Joey Fatone): Cute costume! I didn't like the head under the arm thing, and he had a misstep, but that was a pretty great finish and most of the dancing was very nice. The magic trick was clever.

Samba: Oh, this should be good. And it is, though I wish Leila would get a little more challenging choreography - this dance is so perfect for her, it's fun and requires athleticism and cheeky, but I think her choreography held her back a little from having the same wowing impact that Apolo's samba did. But the judges recognise with a perfect score, so that's all right.

Rhumba: Under pressure? Seriously? John looks good for just a guy off the street doing the rhumba, he'd be a standout in my community class, but he's just not in the same league as the really good dancers in this season.

Man this show is long. Four more dances, good lord. This watching on VCR business makes skipping the talky bits a lot harder.

Mambo: It's just crazy how good Apolo is. I'm gonna add him to my dream competition. It helps that these kids have such spectacular choreography.

Mambo: Hey, this was very good! Ian looked effortless. And I love Cheryl's costume. He did hunch his shoulders a little, but I don't think that's so critical with this dance - it's what lets him connect with his partner more, in a way, or a side effect. If he could do the one without the other, that would be great, but I'll give up the posture for the better connectionn, personally.

Samba: Oy. Billy Ray Cyrus doing the samba to Living in America. It's a testament to the high level of competition this seaon, really, that he stands out as not being very good, because in, say, a dance class at the Y he would be very typical. Hey, there ws a little bit of nice footwork there. Oh, followed by standing completely still rooted to the floor, that's no good. Bounce, Billy Ray, bounce! Ha, Master P call back, nice one, Len.

Jive: Oh, Joey and Kim are just adorable in this one. Cute costumes, love the choreography, well synchronized. And Len gets the pun in.

I happened to catch a bit of the results show last night and it features Jerry Rice, so I will definitely haveto watch it, but I doubt I will have much of anything to say about it.
