i'm big on documentation. I like to keep track of stuff - stuff I've done, especially. I want to be able to log things and then see my stats.

To that end, I have made bunches of enormous and complex spreadsheets that are really unwieldy. Several years ago, DH suggested I should use databases, instead. it would make more sense, be easier, right? So I got a book on Access and tried to learn it but I got all bogged down in theory and never got an actual database built.

I made even more complicated spreadsheets.

Recently, apple.com has been telling me that Bento is a great new Mac friendly easy-to-use database solution. So I got it. And I can't make it do anything. I fiddle with it for a while, realize that what I'm trying to do will not work, take a break and do something else, think I have a better approach and go back, and find that doesn't work, either. In between trying to read the manual, which seems helpful and sense-making until I try to apply anything. So frustrating.
