Jun. 7th, 2011 08:00 amProductivity is not magically improving by leaps and bounds, but I was not a total slug yesterday. Got yogurt made, which was the main goal, and everything that I'm supposed to get done daily, which should probably be my priority, really. Today I need to mow the lawn since it is finally not raining and not yet oppressively hot (at least, that is what weather.com predicts for today, mild sunniness). I may wear my heart rate monitor and call the yard work exercise. Also must buy cat food, and therefore dog food, and while I'm out I could use some groceries. Food for everyone.
Making pretty good headway on reading the Hugo nominees - got through (and ranked on my ballot so I can remember how I want to vote) Short Stories, Graphic Stories, Dramatic Presentation Short Form (well, I watched the one I hadn't seen yet), Novellettes, and I'm halfway through Novellas. Other than Novels, I don't know that I will attempt to familiarize myself with the other categories in time to vote. I don't really know how to have an opinion on editors or artists (well, I'll take a look at what's included in the packet, but I'll be surprised if I have an opinion), and there's just too much material. I probably won't get through all the novels - I've read one, and I own another but have put off reading it because I don't feel like I am ready for zombies, but I am also trying to keep up with A Game of Thrones on HBO (ie, reading about as much of the story as is aired every week - it's not a huge number of pages but it's so involving). We'll see how that goes, I guess.
Oh, right, remembered the other thing I was going to mention. Kid came by last week selling newspaper subscriptions, told me I could get Sunday only delivery. It's the Fairfield paper that I don't really like (their local coverage is not great and their opinion pages are enraging) but I figured Sundays only would give me something to wrap worm food in, so I signed up. Paper came on Sunday. And Monday. So I called and left a message saying I wanted Sunday only. Paper came again today, so I called again, this time reached a human. Who said they don't do Sunday only delivery. Grr. Lady on the phone was not even a little apologetic that their little salesman was a lying liar who lies. So, I guess I'm getting the paper for 20 weeks and now I know better.
