What was happening with me yesterday? Oh, right:
So, we discovered last summer that if we turned on the electric kettle while it was plugged into the most convenient outlet in the kitchen while also running the swamp cooler in the living room, the circuit would blow, and this circuit also includes the lamp that is on a timer to turn on at dusk, the dvr/cable box and media computer and Tivo, and some things in the office (it's weird to me that the circuit spans three rooms like that, but there it is). So, that was bad. We tried just remembering to turn off the swamp cooler when we went to boil water, but we are not reliable at remembering tuff like that, so I found a less convenient but usable outlet in the kitchen that seems to be on a different circuit. Now the only thing on the same circuit is (I think) the dishwasher. So if I run the dishwasher and boil water at the same time, the circuit breaks. it doesn't happen often enough for me to remember that that's how it works, though, so when it happened yesterday I was throughly confused, not only by the circuit breaker flipping, but also by the entertainment center NOT getting all screwed up. That was the plan, self, that's why you put the kettle there!
Our drawers are put together with staples. It's sad, really. But I put some new hardware (hardware made of plastic, seems like that should be called something else) on the one that was completely unusable and was able to clear off a whole corner of the counter. I may do some more rerranging today since I have a vision of how I want the kitchen to be and all. OTOH, I really need to do some office stuff and I really really need to buy some bird seed and suet to appease the feathered locusts, but it is raining pretty hard so I might just hide out inside all day. We shall see.

- 14:57 Finally fixed the drawer in the kitchen that has been broken since the last owners. Yay?
