So, we decided to sleep out on the patio last night. We have a padded swing that folds out to be a small but flat mattress, so we put a couple of sleeping bags on that and brought out the pillows and comforter from the bedroom. We built a fire in the outdoor fireplace thing that is really starting to look like it was never meant to last this long - it's all bent and strange colors, but it holds the burning logs still. It still gets chilly enough at night that the heater comes on inside, but the comforter is nice and warm, so that was fine. The train is a lot louder outside than in, so that woke me up several times, but I felt rested in the morning anyway.

And we grilled up steaks and potatoes and asparagus and peaches for breakfast. Yum. A little coffee, a little fresh-squoze orange juice, delightful.

Hoping to make it an equinox tradition.

It was! I have to admit, though, the dog decided to take advantage and slept inside on our bed.

Ha! That's hilarious. Dog knows a good thing when it sees it.

And now I feel okay about offering up the backyard as our guest room should anyone visit - it's actually quite nice. Maybe not in January.
