May. 15th, 2010 06:30 amWhat was happening with me yesterday? Oh, right:
- 09:21 Much easier time braiding challah this week. Adding flour to compensate for extra liquid - olive oil and honey - really makes a difference.
- 11:16 Glad I get the NASA channel
It's, like, 3 tablespoons of extra liquid, which seems like an insignificant amount, but using the 5:3 ratio means I should add 2.5 ounces of flour (assuming honey and oil average out to a density similar to water, I didn't actually weigh them) which turns out to be maybe as much as half a cup of flour, which seems not insignificant.
Anyway, very happy with how the bread came out. A two-pound loaf is maybe too big for braiding and baking in the dutch oven, will try 1.5 pounds next week.
Dude, we can send people into space. They take off, and 10 minutes later they are totally above the atmosphere. It's awesome, in every sense of the word.
This is how Trainspotting came to be, isn't it? Wonder at incredible new technology that kept the fascination as the tech became mundane.
