Today's Goal

... is staying awake All Day Long. No naps!
I slept really badly last night, even with the new memory foam pillow, probably because I napped through a lot of yesterday afternoon. So I'm determined to stay up today. To that end, I am having a cup of tea. After three days with no caffeine (but, amazingly, no caffeine withdrawal headaches, yay!), it's heavenly.
Other goals: get Quicken up to date and pay bills, get some dishes washed, wrap my siblings' xmas presents. I'm clearly not going to get them delivered by 12th night, I guess I should start calling them Mardi Gras presents. Too bad I don't have purple green and gold wrapping paper. I do have Non-denominational Capitalist, Wintertime Gift-giving Season! wrapping paper, which is always appropriate. Well, until March, anyway.
Also, it's Day One of juice fasting. I squoze some oranges and tangerines for breakfast - serious yum. Dinner will be French Onion Soup, which is a little hearty for the spirit of the juice fast, but makes a nice compromise for a Shabbos meal, and is just delicious, so that's what I'm doing. Since I'm already committed to having bread and wine, having a hearty soup is probably not suh a big deal, anyway. With any luck, upping my calories from ~600 will leave me with energy to not only STAY AWAKE, but also get some actual exercise, and it'll all kind of even out.

I know it's only for a couple of days, but, damn! I don't think I could do that. You have my admiration.

Date: 2007-01-05 07:24 pm (UTC)It's actually pretty easy if you spend a whole lot of time napping. I don't think I could do it if I was working or raising kids or actually keeping my house in order.
